Georgia Writers Museum is answering the question asked most often by unpublished writers: How do I become an author? Book Mark, the Museum’s just-released publication, was created expressly to help writers navigate the steps necessary to achieve publication.

“Most people are aware that Georgia Writers Museum celebrates Georgia authors,” commented George Heiring, museum president. “Yet our mission is much larger. We want to encourage the growth of future writers. We’ve found many are looking for advice on how to create and organize their work, then get it published. That’s just the sort of practical advice Book Mark provides. We’re extremely proud that Chip Bell, our newest board member and distinguished author of nine best-selling books, agreed to create this unique, resourceful guide.”

Author Chip Bell described the creation of Book Mark as a “labor of love.”

“Being an author has given me a great sense of joy, and I wanted others to be able to enjoy that same satisfaction,” Bell said. “I think Book Mark is the ultimate ‘how-to’ book for aspiring authors. It doesn’t read like a manual written by an instructor, but rather as an easy conversation with several mentors. It offers the expertise of nine celebrated authors, each one focused on a different type of publication, including non-fiction books, novels, short stories, poetry, inspirational and business books. Every one of these featured authors is a member of this community. They don’t live on a beach or mountaintop. They’re neighbors offering personal, practical help based on their experience.”

Book Mark can be purchased at the Georgia Writers Museum in Eatonton or by going to georgiawritersmuseum.com. The price is $10 plus tax with an additional $2 if shipping is required. The book will also be available via the Internet at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books-a-Million.
