What You’ll Do

  • Process all incoming log trucks and by-product shipments
  • Inspect all log trucks using established guidelines for log grading and document all grading activities as needed
  • Communicate with sawmill operations, procurement foresters, and procurement regional managers as needed on log quality control issues
  • Follow all established SOP’s concerning overweight loads, spreading loads of logs, and rejection of loads
  • Assist log procurement and sawmill in data collection and process improvement as needed
  • Prepare daily log receipt and by products shipments reports as needed
  • Test, grade, and record Chip Quality Data as needed by location
  • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary including data collection, training, and report production
  • Where appropriate check lumber shipments and documentation for accuracy
  • Coordinate log inventory rotation
  • Coordinate byproduct handling and removal
  • Operate rolling stock including articulating front-end loaders

Young Harris Water Sports is looking for a Manager of Quality (Lake Oconee) in Putnam County.

$12 an hour

Looking for a fun job working on beautiful Lake Oconee? This position works from 5am – 1pm five days per week. Young Harris Water Sports LLC. is currently searching for a skilled and responsible quality control technician. This position is responsible for the overall quality of our water craft rental fleet ultimately increasing the experience for our customers.

Job Summary:

Responsible for managing all day to day cleanliness and basic maintenance of our rental fleet on Lake Oconee. This will include 4 locations on the lake; Ritz Carlton, 44 Bridge, Boathouse at Harbor Club, and Reynolds Lake Club Marina. We are looking for someone that can keep our rental fleet clean on a day to day basis. Also, this position needs to perform basic maintenance on boats; maintaining fluid levels, performing fluid changes, fixing minor problems involving the fleet, and keeping up with maintenance logs.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required experience: management: 1 year & Mechanical experience working on boats.

Job Type: Full-time

Required license or certification: Driver’s License

Age: Minimum age is 18 years old

Hours of Work

  • 5 am – 1 pm
  • 40 hours per week during summer
  • No summer vacation permitted during first year of service
  • Expected to work varied shifts on varied days depending on business requirements.
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Must work all major summer holidays and surrounding dates (Memorial Day, July 4th, & Labor Day).

Travel

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must have the ability to tow boats behind truck (will train)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to swim for up to 5 minutes at a time.
  • This position requires a high level of physical activity.
  • Must be able to meet minimum requirements and perform functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Frequently moves and lifts items weighing up to 50 pounds across The Ritz-Carlton Lodge property
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and or move items up to 75 pounds in weight.
  • Ability to stand or for long periods of time under extreme weather conditions.
  • Constantly positions self to maintain watercraft, including inside tight spots on watercraft.
  • Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to retrieve or store equipment.
  • Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly to staff, Ritz-Carlton employees, vendors, and company personnel
  • Must be able to detect damage to watercraft however small damage is.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary)

Certification

  • First Aid, Towed Water Sports Credentials
  • Any boating certifications

Experience

  • Working knowledge of boat / jet ski operation and maintenance.
  • Water sport experience: Wake boarding, wake surfing, water skiing, tubing, knee boarding.
  • Experience towing water sport activities behind boat.
